DAILY REFLECTION: I grew up in an era with a healthy academic competition, when grading was not only calculated in averages but in positions as well. The first, the second and the third positions at the end of every academic year will have to climb the rostrum and get a hand-shake accompanied by a gift from the Principal or Headmaster as the case may be, and we all worked hard for such recognition. There is hardly anyone who does not like to be noted for his/her good deed, but there is a danger to this. The Roman Centurion in today's gospel has something to tell us. LET'S GO THERE
